Corporate History

In 1956 Herbert Malarkey founded Herbert Malarkey Paper Company, which soon became Malarkey Roofing Products. In 1960 the company produced their first 3-tab shingle. Michael Malarkey became President of the company in 1975, and in 1977 Malarkey introduced the first metric fiberglass shingle and the first SBS polymer modified base sheet in North America.

In 2003 Malarkey opened a new production facility in South Gate, California, and in 2011 expanded further with a manufacturing plant in Oklahoma City, OK. Today the company employs over 400 people in three different manufacturing facilities in North America.
