Polyglass U.S is a privately held company and manufacturer of modified bitumen roofing and waterproofing membranes designed for low and steep slope applications. Polyglass has been manufacturing roofing products in Europe since 1960 and in the United States since 1992. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has five manufacturing plants in the United States with its US headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Corporate History

Polyglass was founded in 1960, and began selling products in the US in 1992.

The Mapei Group, a building materials company purchased Polyglass in 2008. In 2010, Polyglass established its U.S headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Polyglass had three manufacturing plants across the U.S at the time. In 2010, Polyglass launched its CURE Technology of ceramic microspheres, proprietary resins and ultraviolet stabilizers.

Polyglass U.S.A., Inc. acquired KM coatings in 2014 and Polyglass opened its fourth manufacturing plant in Phoenix, Arizona. CISQ/CERTIQUALITY S.r.l recognized Polyglass for the ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2016 and the company celebrated its 25 years of manufacturing roof products in the U.S for the North American market. Polyglass U.S.A., Inc. opened its fifth manufacturing facility in Waco, Texas in 2017.

Polyglass offers a three-tiered contractor program that rewards contractors based on their installation of roof systems. Designed to credit contractors for their commitment, each tier offers different benefits.

Product Lines

Polyglass specializes in modified bitumen membranes, roof coatings and cement products, white elastomeric roof coatings and self-adhered roofing membranes.

The company’s range of roofing products and technologies fall under five main categories:

Modified Bitumen Membranes: Includes a range of residential and commercial roofing products for different applications. Polyglass membranes are non-abrasive, skid-resistant, energy-efficient and include:

  • SBS Membranes- Modified asphalt, roofing membranes that are reinforced with fiberglass and/or polyester used for multi-ply roof systems.
  • CURE Technology- Thin film technology that is infused with proprietary resins, UV stabilizers and ceramic microspheres for use with modified membranes.
  • APP Membranes- Modified asphalt roofing membranes that are reinforced with fiberglass and/or polyester. These can be heat-welded or cold-applied and used for multi-ply roof systems.
  • ADESO Self-Adhered Technology- Includes dual-compound self-adhesive membranes used to enhance lap sealing.
  • Base, Felt and Synthetic Membranes- Membranes used for built-up roofing systems and SBS.
  • Accessories- A range of accessories to complement roof systems.

Roof Underlayments: Features ADESO Technology, a patented method of manufacturing dual-compound self-adhesive membranes for lap sealing and waterproofing. Includes a self-adhering bottom layer that is coupled with the top surface.

Elastomeric Roof Coatings: Include cool roof reflective coatings designed to protect roofs from UV radiation and heat absorption damage. White elastomeric coatings are used to protect the roof and provide a barrier against corrosion. Elastomeric roof coatings include silicone, fast-drying and acrylic coatings as well as flashing compounds, primers and roof accessories.

Asphalt Roof Coatings: Includes a range of roof coating products for roofing and waterproofing applications. Asphaltic roof coatings include protective and aluminum coatings, flashing compound, modified cement and adhesives, mastics, emulsions, primers and roofing accessories.

Kool Roof Solutions: Polyglass Kool Roof solutions include modified bitumen membranes and elastomeric coatings. Coatings are used to offer a protective and reflective roof barrier that helps control temperature. Membranes designed using CURE Technology designed to protect against color staining, granular loss and asphaltic bleed.

Environmental Impact

Polyglass supports the use of environment-friendly products and practices and its products contribute to the credits for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification of buildings. Polyglass manufactures many cool roof waterproofing systems. These are all tested by the EELab (Energy Efficiency Laboratory of the University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia).

Polyglass Kool Roof Solutions products reduce the heat island effect, are energy-efficient and have the ENERGY STAR rating. The company’s CURE Technology incorporated during the manufacturing process is solvent-free and environmentally-friendly.

Warranty

Polyglass offers its customers a variety of warranties and guarantees from 10, 15 to a 20 years term depending on the materials used and the type of roofing system installed. Polyglass has a range of warranty applications for low-slope, steep-slope and coating products.
