Corporate History

Henry grew from its Los Angeles roots into a North American building-products supplier. Its expansion included the 1998 acquisition of Monsey Bakor and later additions in air barriers, waterproofing, roof restoration, and spray polyurethane foam.

American Securities acquired Henry in 2016. Carlisle announced its acquisition of Henry in July 2021 and completed the purchase that September. Current ownership and product information should come from Henry or Carlisle rather than older private-equity profiles.

Approvals and Product Ratings

Some Henry products or assemblies have documentation from UL, FM Approvals, ICC Evaluation Service, Miami-Dade County, the Florida Building Commission, or the Cool Roof Rating Council. These records apply to named products, assembly numbers, manufacturing locations, jurisdictions, and installation conditions.

Ask the designer or contractor for the exact current listing that applies to the project. A company’s participation in a testing or rating program does not give every product blanket approval for fire, wind, hail, building-code, or high-velocity-hurricane-zone use.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ended the ENERGY STAR specification for roof products on June 1, 2022. Older Henry literature may show ENERGY STAR roof labels, but buyers should use current product data and Cool Roof Rating Council initial and aged values when reflectance matters.

Roof Coatings and Restoration

Henry sells acrylic, silicone, aluminum, emulsion, and other roof-restoration products. A coating does not fix every roof. The existing membrane, moisture condition, drainage, seams, flashing, adhesion, preparation, coverage rate, and manufacturer-approved system determine whether restoration makes sense.

Ask for a moisture survey and written scope before coating an existing roof. Confirm whether the proposal includes repairs, primer, reinforcement, dry-film thickness, inspections, and warranty registration.

Vegetative Roofing

Henry offers waterproofing components and warranty options for vegetative-roof assemblies. A well-designed green roof may retain stormwater and moderate roof-surface temperature, but results depend on climate, drainage, planting medium, vegetation, maintenance, and local utility or sewer rules. The complete assembly needs structural, waterproofing, root-barrier, drainage, and maintenance design.

Warranties

Henry does not use one warranty for every product. Its current warranty center lists standard product coverage, residential and light-commercial system warranties, roof-restoration warranties, and commercial waterproofing or air-barrier programs.

Terms vary by product and system. Some cover material defects only. Others may include system or labor coverage, require an authorized contractor, charge a fee, or depend on inspections and approved details. Henry lists 15-year residential moisture-control and 30-year residential building-envelope options, as well as separate roof-coating and restoration programs.

Before work starts, get the exact warranty form and confirm:

• the eligible products and required quantities;
• the warranty term and non-prorated period;
• whether labor, tear-off, leaks, or consequential damage are covered;
• installer authorization, inspection, maintenance, and registration requirements;
