"Great Look, Fair Price"
We had these shingles put on about 3 years ago. We live in Central Florida and we see our share of Tropical Storms and hurricanes so we thought we would go with a shingle with a very high wind rating. I believe this one is able to withstand winds upwards of 130 mph. That was an important aspect of what we were thinking about when we purchased this as we were in the middle of hurricane season at the time. These shingles have been put to the test on multiple occasions and so far they have all stayed intact and the roof looks as good as the day they were installed. We get a good amount of compliments on this roof as well. We live in a neighborhood where a lot of the homes are coming of age that they need new roofs and I have had many people ask me about our particular shingles. I am happy to share the brand and our experience with them. I really like the look of these and would definitely purchase them again.

"Dont Buy This Junk"
I have had these shingles for 6 years now and they are already black and discolored in places. I am part of a class action lawsuit against GAF right now to have my entire roof replaced with shingles that don't discolor. These shingles are defective from the factory. While they do a great job of keeping water from coming into your home, the color change is so dramatic that my Home Owners Association keeps writing threatening letters to have the roof cleaned or else they will put a lien on my house. I do not recommend that anyone buy these shingles unless they are looking to be hounded by their HOA. In retrospect, I should have spent more money on a quality product and then I would not have ended up with these problems. Hopefully when the class action lawsuit is resolved in 2018 I will be able to get money back to put a new roof on.
