"Our metal roof makes maintenance easier"
We installed metal roofing on our cottage in 2010, to replace worn out asphalt shingles. Private contractor Davidson Construction installed our metal roof right over the top of our old asphalt shingles. We were concerned about pine needles and leaves collecting on the roof, but with the metal roof, the needles and leaves slide off on their own or with a minimum of effort with a leaf blower. I am happy that my husband spends less time up on the roof! We also added snow bars on the roof over the deck and doorways, because without them to hold back the snow on the roof, the snow would easily slide off onto the deck and doorways. The snow bars were an easy addition and work very well. We haven't had any issues or repairs needed in 8 years and are very pleased with the roof. It still looks great. To anyone who thinks a metal roof is noisy in the rain, you are mistaken. It doesn't sound much different than rain on the old asphalt shingles. We are very pleased with our metal roof and would recommend metal roof replacement to any homeowner in need of a new roof. It's been a great investment and adds to the curb appeal of the cottage. The ACM Fast Panels were available at our local home improvement store and our contractor found the panels easy to work with and install. In 2010, they came in eight different colors to compliment a variety of color schemes. Go metal! You won't regret it.
