This policy describes the rebuilt RoofingCompare website, including its roofing articles, archived consumer reviews, contractor links and advertising when enabled.
Information we handle
Website visits. When you visit, our hosting and security providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time. Server logs may include URLs and query parameters, including a ZIP code entered in a contractor search. We use operational records to investigate errors, prevent abuse and maintain the site.
Archived reviews. We display previously published roofing reviews. A review may contain a display name, location, product details, rating, date and anything its author included in the review text. The rebuilt site's review database does not import separate reviewer email, IP-address or account-password fields. Public accounts and new review submissions are closed. Contact us if an archived review contains personal information you want us to review for removal.
Email. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you send. We use it to respond and handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords, identity documents or other sensitive information unless we explain why we need it.
Staff access. Authorized staff use accounts to edit the site. We use session and security cookies for those accounts. Visitors do not need a public account to read articles or reviews.
Contractor searches and external websites
If you use our contractor search, we send the ZIP code you enter to a contractor-referral partner by redirecting your browser to that partner’s website. The link includes our referral identifier. Our application does not save a contractor lead or submit your name, phone number or email through this search. Technical logs may still record the request.
Our partners receive your browser’s request when you visit their websites. Each partner handles any further information you provide under its own privacy policy. Read the partner’s policy before submitting a quote request. The same principle applies when you follow other external links.
Advertising and cookies
When we enable Google AdSense, Google and other participating advertising vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process information such as your IP address, device identifiers and page visits. They use this information to deliver and measure advertising, detect fraud and, where permitted, personalize ads. Advertising cookies can support ads based on earlier visits to this site or other websites.

The rebuilt site does not load Google Analytics.

We use hosting, content-delivery, security and email providers to operate the site and respond to you. They may process information for those services. Advertising vendors and external sites may also use information for their own purposes, as described above and in their policies.
We may disclose information when applicable law requires it or when needed to investigate abuse and protect the site and its users. Providers may process data in countries other than the country where you live.
Retention and security
We retain information according to its purpose, including operating the site, maintaining the review archive, responding to requests and meeting applicable legal obligations. Backup copies may remain after we remove information from the active site until those copies expire or we replace them.
We restrict administrative access and use encrypted connections and encrypted application backups. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee security.
Your privacy requests
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, obtain a copy, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent.
