"Solar shingles installed by my local contractor"
We had this installed to a small patio roof to generate electricity for our garden light, irrigation, and ceiling fan 6 months ago. Installation was done by Ramirez Roofing which is local. It was installed in 1 hour and eliminated the need of shingles. I was told that they may not be very durable and may get damaged easily. So I'm afraid it will cost me arms and legs when I need to repair or partly replace. I would buy it again and would recommend to neighbors and friends

"Highly Efficient, Cost Effective: Solar Shingles"
I installed these shingles last year on my own. I have found via my smart meter that the power generated is on track with the estimates I made before purchasing them. I did find that they were slightly less secure in terms of being secured. Some were pulled off during a recent storm, but I replaced it and should recoup the cost within only an extra year. I would buy the same brand again, I feel that it's likely I installed the ones that flew off incorrectly. I would recommend it to a friend. I would recommend doing some more investigation into other brands as the technology has rapid innovation, and minor boosts to effectiveness result in very large long-term savings.
